  8. In ancient times, the Oriental people classified everything in the world into 
  9. the categories of Yin, Yang and The Five Elements.  These concepts have been 
  10. used to explain movements of nature.  Yin and Yang are two fundamental 
  11. tendencies or forces.  Yin has the properties of being female, weak, cold, 
  12. and dark and is identified with the moon, immortal,  . . .  and negative ions. 
  13. Yang by contrast, is male, strong, warm, and bright.  It is identified with 
  14. the sun, dragon,  . . .  and positive ions.

  16. The Five Elements: earth, fire, water, wood and metal, which represents Five 
  17. Regions: the Center, the South, the North, the East and the West.  The Center 
  18. was represented by the earth and the color yellow, the South by fire and the 
  19. color red, the North by water and the color black, the East by wood and the 
  20. color green, the West by metal and the color white.
